About Nike
Nike was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports and originally operated as a reseller for the Japanese company Onitsuka Tiger - now known as ASICS. Although it was created by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, it was Jeff Johnson who inspired the name Nike, after the Greek statue, "The Victory of Samothrace".
